On Sunday, November 13, 2011 a traditional German fest, St.Martin’s day, was held in Heidelberg-Center. The event was organized by the members of Young Leaders’ Club and German volunteers Kay and Mary together with the school children of the 9th Gymnasium (Simferopol). The festivity began with learning traditional German folk songs. Then it came to tasting traditional festive pastries and performing a scene from the legend of St. Martin (all characters were played by the school children). After that the procession went singing to the neighbouring houses to say greetings on St.Martin’s day. Following the tradition, the neighbors listened to the songs and gave sweets to the children. The festivity finished with joyful dances in the Heidelberg’s yard.
Street University – Meeting with Psoy Galaktionovich Korolenko
August 28th, 2011 At the end of August Simferopol “Street University” invited to Heidelberg-Center a Moscow State University professor, candidate of philological sciences, journalist, poet and musician Pavel Eduardovich Lion, widely known under the pseudonym of Psoy Galaktionovich Korolenko.
The meeting was possible due to Psoy Korolenko’s touring activities. He gave a lecture and a concert “SPELL-ART/SHPIL-ORT: Functions of foreign words in performances and songs.” The meeting agenda included a serious talk, linguistic performance, music, dances.

Repair
August 27th, 2011 The volunteer from Club of young leaders Dima Pritulenko initiated the repair of Heidelberg Center in the framework of the Summer volunteer camps. The camp is over but repairs work going on, and a lot of people already taken part in it.
Volunteer tour in spring 2011
May 20th, 2011 In early May the guys from the project “Volunteer in Action”, which was based on the Heidelberg Center in the fall of last year, went on a tour of towns and villages in Crimea: Bakhchisarai, Sudak, Koktebel, Dobroie, Dolgorukovskaya Yayla. The tour program contained trainings, help to elderly people, parties and screenings for rural youth, the restoration of memorials to World War II.
We are hosting guest from around the world
March 25th, 2011 Heidelberg Center hosted guests from all over the world in March, 2011. “Action for all Life,” “Life-long Action,” “Action of Life,” “Action for Life” all these are free translations into Russian language of the worldwide project named Action for Life. Alexander Birnberg (Australia), Yeonyuk Jeong and Heejin Choi (South Korea), Nhat Nguyen (Vietnam), Solomon Adane (Ethiopia), Ravi Dani (India), Joo Pyin Ch’ng (Malaysia), Anna Pozogina (Latvia) and Adrian Pop (Romania) were participants of the project. The program Action for Life (AfL) aims to develop a new generation of change-makers, equipped with integrity and spiritual strength who are committed to bringing transformation in the world, starting with themselves.
